Abumi Zaku

Abumi Zaku, part of a team with Dosu Kinuta and Kin Tsuchi, is an arrogant, proud genin who stubbornly refuses to give up, even at the cost of his arms. This Sound-nin had a difficult life as an orphan, and was beaten regularly for stealing food to survive. Orochimaru then took him in because he "liked" Zaku's angry, proud eyes.
Zaku likely had special surgery in his arms, giving him the ability to use his Zankuuha, a powerful jet of air that can destroy rock and rip flesh. Although powerful, it has a glaring weakness, and that is that it is clogged easily, as Zaku found out during his fight with Aburame Shino.

Zaku fought proudly as a representative of the Sound Village, but was sadly discarded like a pawn, as Orochimaru coldly stated. Orochimaru sacrificed him and Kin Tsuchi in order to resurrect the First and Second Hokages during his fight with the Third Hokage.




Akado Yoroi
Age: 23

Yoroi is another participant in the chuunin exam. He has his face covered and wears occular lenses over his eyes. He makes a short appearance in the Naruto series as a spy for the Hidden Sound village. He joins the chuunin exam together with Kabuto and Tsurugi Misumi as three genins from the Hidden Leaf Village, but their true rank is unknown.
He has the exeptional ability of absorbing chakra, which enables him to suck out the mind and body energy from an enemy's body by putting his palm onto the enemy. We only see him fight and lose to Sasuke in the preliminary matches.


Akasun Sasuri
Current Rank: Missing-nin
Sasori was once part of the Hidden Sand Village, but 20 years ago he left the village and became a missing-nin. He developed and uses many battle puppets to fight his opponent(s) with. Even Karusu, Kuroari, and Sanshouuo, the puppets that Kankuro uses were made by Sasori.
He is a very skilled ninja, with many aces up his sleeve. He is part of Akatsuki and travels around with Deidara as his Akatsuki partner. Before Orochimaru left Akatsuki and Deidara became Sasori's partner it was Orochimaru who was part of a team with Sasori. Sasori is also known as "Akasun no Sasori" or "the Scorpion of the Red Sand". He is very impatient and likes to get things done as fast as he can, he doesn't like to let people wait or be waiting himself.
Sasori lost his parents at a young age and was left in the care of his grandmother, Chiyo. It's she who taught him everything there is to know about puppetry. When Sasori first learned how to use this ability, he made puppets resembling his dead parents in order to feel loved by them. He later on starts creating human puppets (puppets made from human bodies) from opponents he thought worthy of becoming his puppet.
His favorite puppets are Hiruko and the Third Kazekage, both shinobi from the Hidden Sand who he kidnapped and killed to become part of his collection. Hiruko is a more defensive puppet, while through the Third Kazekage's puppet Sasori can use the Third's unique Iron Sand ability.
But that's not all, Sasori himself is actually a puppet too, he converted his own body into a puppet. It gives him a young appearance, and let's him control 100 puppets at once by using a mechanism on his chest that can spin numerous chakra strings. To be able to do this he has to be able to use chakra, for this reason his heart is preserved inside his puppet. His heart, being the only part left of his human body, is the only way to really kill Sasori. Otherwise he'll just transfer his heart to another puppet.
Sasori is eventually killed by his grandmother Chiyo and Sakura. He is stabbed through the heart in the form of a hug by the human puppets of Sasori's parents. After his defeat Sasori informs Sakura of his spy within Orochimaru's ranks, Kabuto Yakushi. He tells her where and when she can meet him.


Baui

Baiu was one of the genin from the Hidden Rain Village that participated in the chuunin exams. Alongside his teammates Shigure and Midare they were one of the two Rain teams that made it into the 2nd phase of the chuunin exam. The other Rain team consisted out of Kagari, Mubi and Oboro. Not much is known about Baiu and his team, except for the fact that they were easily defeated by Gaara.
Baiu and his team was very unfortunate to run into Gaara while in the Forest of Death. In order to get another team's scroll and advance to the next phase of the chuunin exam Shigure confronts Gaara using his Raining Needles technique, but gets killed rather easily. After Baiu and Midare saw Shigure get defeated so easily, they both immedeatly surrender, and give up their scroll. But Gaara shows no mercy for Shigure's teammates, and also finishes them off by trapping them within the Desert Coffin, and crushing their bodies with the Desert graveyard technique. In the end it was only Shigure that tried to fight Gaara, while Baiu and Midare just gave up, and still got themselves killed.

Haku

Haku is Zabuza's trainee and most trusted companion. He is an exile from the Hidden Mist Village and he has a very powerful advanced bloodline. Because of the many civil wars in the Hidden Mist Village, the advanced bloodlines are hated. When Haku's father found out that Haku and his mother possessed an advanced bloodline, he tried to kill them. He managed to kill Haku's mother, but Haku survived and killed him instead. After killing his father, Haku realized that he was unwanted. He didn't have any reason to exist. Haku wandered the streets homeless and alone, but that changed when he met Zabuza. Zabuza was also an outcast of the Hidden Mist Village and he wanted revenge. In Haku he saw a tool with which he could carry out his vengeance. Haku was extremely happy he had finally found a reason to live. He had finally found someone who loved him for his abilities, instead of hating him because of them. Haku was determined to give his life to Zabuza. He said it himself, "I am Zabuza-san's weapon... please keep me by your side as your tool." Haku is an expert in acupuncture, and his weapons of choice are senbon. With his advanced bloodline, Haku is able to control water. His most powerful jutsu is the Demonic Ice Mirrors. This makes Haku a very talented and powerful ninja, who even surpasses Zabuza.




Hoshigaki Kisame

Hoshigaki Kisame was introduced alongside Uchiha Itachi, as a fellow member of the dreaded Akatsuki. Not much is known about Kisame, other than his past affiliation with Momochi Zabuza in the Hidden Mist's Seven Legendary Swordsmen group. He has a freakish personality and an equally freakish shark-like appearance. He has a terrifying sword he calls Samehada, which is basicaly a chakra-absorbing sword that cuts through his opponent's chakra by absorbing the chakra around it. The amount of chakra it can absorb is unclear, but seems to be unlimited. Kisame's Samehada is of comparable size to Zabuza Momochi's chopping blade, but rather than slicing its intended victim, it rips them apart like the teeth of a shark. Kisame is also the only one that is able to wield his Samehada. When Maito Gai attempted to use the Samehada against Kisame, the sword responded by attacking Gai's hand with spikes coming out of the handle. Kisame loves to fight, and was eager to fight Asuma, Kurenai, and Gai at the same time, but was disappointed when Itachi ordered a retreat. He is fearless, and not afraid to use his Samehada liberally. He uses water-based jutsus and is able to create water from nothing, turning any battleground into a lake, enabling him to use even stronger water-based jutsus. Kisame's amount of chakra is said to be the largest in Akatsuki. Truly someone to be cautious of, if not terrified of. As an Akatsuki member Kisame was assigned to capture the host of the four-tailed beast, an assignment he already succeeded in.




Jiroubou

Jiroubou is the weakest member of the Sound 4 group. Don't let this fool you! Although he is the weakest amongst them, that doesn't mean he isn't strong against other people. His power is unbeleiveable. He specializes in molding chakra as the rest of them. Because of his size he also has the ability to, like Chouji, increase his size and power but without a pill. He dislikes when Tayuya bad mouths him and he always critizices her when she does. Jiroubou's power is strong but yet we don't know what clan he belongs to. Some can say he may be from the Akimichi clan since they are the only ones who can preform the multi-size jutsu so far. One could also say that this power comes from the Level 2 seal curse.

Jiroubou is a tough figther but he often, just like Chouji, gets hungry. When he IS hungry he has the ability to absorb another persons chakra. This technique is done with his jutsu: 'Doroutoumu-Doton Kekkai' (Ultimate Clay Prison) which engulfs his opponets in a huge dome prison like structure which can't be penetrated unless hit in a spot which has very low chakra molding. This is one of his special moves and though it doesn't cause any damage physically, it drains the target's chakra and once the enemy is weak, he finishes them off.

Jiroubou's attacks all involve earth-type jutsus, which means if he is by land, he is able to utilize most of his techniques. Besides using these ninjutsus, he has the capability to use strong powerful taijutsu attacks. When he activates his level 2 seal he has 10X the power that he would normally have in his first form. He is able to use the super-size jutsu which makes him bigger then those who can preform the multi-size jutsus. Besides doing these types of attacks, he is known to talk highly about leaders and dislikes those who are poor leaders.
Jiroubou is not to be taken lightly even if he is the weakest of the Sound 4. His strength, combined with his top notch Earth-type ninjutsu, make him a deadly fighter in battles. Those who underestimate him will only find death. Though when he is faced with the option of death the tides soon change.


Kagari
Age: 17

Kagari is a Hidden Rain Ninja and he is in the same team as Oboro and Mubi. His team fights using mainly genjutsu and clones to hide themselves so him and his teamates can attack their enemy where they least expect it. They can also change Mist clones into solid water clones without being noticed so that they can attack with many clones using taijutsu instead of genjutsu to infict physical damage instead of illusionary damage. To the enemy the clones will still look the same. But if they attack a clone, unlike a mist clone, it will become a puddle of water when hit.

Kagari and his team fought in the chuunin exam's second examination in the forest of death and were beat by Naruto, Sasuke, sakura and Kabuto. Soon after the chuunin exams Oboro and his team were highered along with Aoi to make sure that the serimonial runner of the land of tea could not win the serimonial race. They managed to trap Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura under water and almost drowned them. They almost succeeded in their mission, but Naruto managed to free himself and his squad and beat Kagari, Mubi, and Oboro once again.

Kaguya Kimimaro

Kimimaro was one of the original sound 5 and appears near the end of their journey to protect Sasuke so he can reach the level 2 cursed seal. Kimimaro is the sole survivor of the Kaguya Clan, the clan who can manipulate their bodies skeleton frame. He is well suited for close combat fighting and distant fighting. Since he can regenerate and make new bones, he has a endless supply of bones he can use against his opponent. Kimimaro suffers from a illness which was not thoroughly explained through out the manga. Taking a look at the facts from the manga, it could be considered a cancer-like disease since it effects his whole body and makes him sick. While he does suffer from an illness he still is strong enough to hold his own against most of the opponents which approach to fight him. In this case that would be Gaara and Rock Lee. Kimimaro also knows the 5 special dances which he can use at his own will to kill his opponents. All of these dances can only be used by him and any other kaguya clan members. His attacks all cause a devastating attack and can also be used for defense. He is well taught in the way of the sword and uses his own bones as weapons. He can form his bones into any shape which makes him a fearsome ninja in the series. Kimimaro could be considered like another Haku. He has a deep gratitude and love for Orochimaru and he is willing to do whatever it takes to help Orochimaru complete his plan of destroying the Hidden Leaf Village. We don't see him in the attack on Konoha because he is very ill at the time but it has been said that if he were in top condition the whole plan would of went as Orochimaru had planned and the village would have been demolished. He is a powerful ninja but his illness is his weakness.
Kidoumaru Age: 14 Weight: 56.2 Length: 159 cm

Kidoumaru is another one of the Sound 4, who is the elite body guards of Orochimaru. Kidoumaru has one noticeable feature is that he has 6 arms. Each of his arms is used in controlling his web type of attacks on people. He can use it to control his webs and stretch them out. Kidoumaru is the rowdy guy of the sound 4, he enjoys playing games and playing with his enemies before he kills them. Kidoumaru is the main one who uses his webs to protect the sound 4 and orochimaru. The webs can be used defense wise and offense wise. Kidoumaru has a special type of metal like liquid which runs all through out his body, he can use this liquid to make his webs as well as when it reaches out side of his body it automatically starts hardening with the chakra which flows with in him. Kidoumaru is one who likes to use spiders and their attacks in his attacks, when we see him fighting Neji he uses spiders to attack him while having the ability to summon a huge unidentified spider which attacks Neji. Kidoumaru is a tough one from the sound 4 and his weakness is he takes to long to finish his objectives since he likes to play around which might be his down fall in future battles. One Kidoumaru activates L.V 2 curse seal he has 120% accuracy and uses his web made bow to strike his opponents with absolutely no missing accuracy in his attacks. Kidoumaru also is a strategist who likes to strategy and uses them quite often in his attacks or when he plans traps. Though he may be smart in this sense be is still lacking any true hand to hand combat and uses a lot of long distant attacks since he is not really a taijutsu type of ninja. He doesn't mess around and his ninjutsu is an inhuman one at that but this is the reason he was chose to be one of the sound 4 mainly because of his web type of jutsus.
Kinuta Dosu

Unofficial leader in the team consisting of himself, Zaku Abumi, and Kin Tsuchi, Dosu is the strongest and most intelligent of the only team from Sound Village to enter the Chuunin exams. Dosu is a proud and calculating character, and is very quick to analyse new situations. His attacks include use of his Melody Arm, a device used to amplify and control the sound waves emitted from it to attack his opponents ears. If he manages to damage the ear drums of his opponent, his enemy will become unbalanced until he/she recovers. Dosu also has a sort of comradeship with his teammates, and vowed to avenge Zaku's loss of his match and arms in the finals.

Midare
Age: 19

Momochi Zabuza

Just like Haku, Zabuza is what they call a "missing-nin". After his failed Coup d'etat on the Mizukage he had to abandon the Hidden Mist Village and became an exile. Now, constantly on the run for the village's hunter-nins he's looking for a way to get his revenge. He's a master in assassination jutsu's and offers his services for that purpose to anyone who can pay him, he joins arms with scum like Gato to fund his revenge. Zabuza is a cruel man who knows no mercy, yet he tolerates a boy named Haku in his presence. He looks at Haku as his tool and uses him the way he likes.

In order for a Ninja Academy student to graduate and become a Genin in the Hidden Mist Village, he or she had to fight, with one of the same friends they trained with, to the death. But all of this had to be changed 10 years ago when one of that year's students killed over 100 peers without hesitation. This child was Zabuza. Because of this the Village was forced to change the final exam for he graduating class, and is commonly referred to by other villages as "Bloody Mist Village". From that day on, Zabuza was known as "the Devil of the Hidden Mist".
Zabuza is one of the seven shinobi-gatana (swordsmen) of the Mist and is equiped with a very big chopping blade. He makes his first appearance as one of Gato's henchmen who's after the bridge builder, Tazuna. He fights and loses to Kakashi twice, and was only able to survive the first accounter because of Haku's fake hunter-nin appearance. At the very end he kills gato, and has the soul request to die laying next to Haku. It's a very touching scene where it begins to snow ("haku is crying") and Zabuza says: "Haku, I'm sorry, I hope I can go to the same place you're going to.". He dies as a shinobi who has led a difficult life, and only realized at the very end that a shinobi isn't a mere tool who can feel no emotions.

Orochimaru

Orochimaru is one of the 3 Legendary Sannin of the Leaf Village, until his thirst for the knowledge of Forbidden Techniques exiled him from the village. Since then, he has moved on from body to body in a technique that transfers his soul into another one in a bid for immortality. His next victim, or prodigy, as he states, is Uchiha Sasuke. After his initial meeting with Sasuke in the Death Forest, Orochimaru gives him a curse seal as tantalizing bait; using Sasuke's ambition against himself, so that Sasuke would one day follow him and Orochimaru would claim his greatest power. The Sharingan. He also was once part of Akatsuki, the same organization that Uchiha Itachi and Hoshigaki Kisame are currently in, but left because he feared Itachi to a great magnitude. Orochimaru has terrifying offensive techniques, and the exact opposite of Jiraiya. His ability to make Kakashi freeze dead in his tracks by just showing off his killing intent should be indicator of how strong he is. He founded the Hidden Sound Village (Otogakure) with the sole intention of gathering human subjects for his forbidden jutsus development and research. He failed at the attempt of Destroying the Hidden Leaf Village, and Third Hokage Sarutobi, did a special sealing technique (Shiki Fuujin which was able to take Orochimaru's soul but since he was old and injured he was only able to seal Orochimaru's arms within him.

Sakon

Sakon is one of the the ninjas of the Sound 4, the elite body guards of Orochimaru. He is also one of the strongest of the four sound ninjas. He is a twisted one and enjoys bad mouthing the opposition. Although he talks a lot of trash, he can back it up. His power is unbelievable and he is very fast. Sakon has amazing power and speed but these are not the only things he has at his disposal. Sakon is a very noticeable ninja. From his back one can see what looks like another body which is just hanging from his back. This is his brother Ukon, who is his older sibling. He stays asleep in Sakon's body until he is activated by the Level 2 cursed seal. When he is activated, he takes the same shape as all the other Sound 4 when they are activated. They appear to be demons. Sakon has a 2 to 1 advantage in fights, and when the need arises, he always has a partner ready. Sakon has the ability in the stage of the Level 2 curse seal he is able to manipulate cells and proteins which allows him to " merge" with the user and kill them. This is his special attack but it has a flaw because they are merged if the user should die or kill his- or her-self then the one who has merged with them will die as well. Sakon and Ukon work as a team and because of this they are more reliant on each other. When split up, they may be able to handle a 1-1 fight for a while, but when they have to face a strong opponent, this is their weak point. Little else is known about Sakon and Ukon. What village they come from? What their bloodline limit is? Are their techniques considered techniques that Orichimaru taught to his bodyguards? Though these things are not yet known, he appears to be a scary, fierce, and strong opponent who will slaughter anyone who interrupt his mission.

Shigure

Shigure was one of the genin from the Hidden Rain Village that participated in the chuunin exams. By throwing his umbrellas into the air, and controlling the released needles kept inside with chakra he hoped to finish off Gaara by attacking him from all directions. But Shigure's technique didn't have any affect against Gaara at all. Gaara's Shield of Sand that constantly protects him took care of the job of defending Gaara. Shigure having his technique failed, rushes towards Gaara and attacks him head on. Gaara retaliates by trapping him within the Desert Coffin, and finishes him by crushing his entire body with the Desert graveyard technique. In the end Shigure didn't put up much of a fight, and was easily killed by Gaara. Gaara also shows no mercy for Shigure's teammates, and altough they already surrendered after they saw Shigure get defeated so easily, they met the same fate as him.

Tayuya

Tayuya may seem pretty weak. The only thing she has going for her is her flute. But she is a Jounin level ninja. Other then that she doesn't really add much to the sound 4 but her foul mouth, strength, and the techniques she performs with her flute, She is always constantly yelling at jiroubou. But even with her great strength and ability to control and summon ethereal spirits she still lacks a lot in taijutsu and ninjutsu. she mainly uses genjutsu and her flute in battle.

Tayuya is not all flawed she does of course have her special summon of the doki; chakra eating spirits which she can control with her flute. These summons can attack and eat at a opponents physical energy with the whims of a note. Her physical strength is also great (like most of the sound four).
Not much was said about Tayuya in the manga but she did put up a hell of a fight with Shikamaru. She went into the cursed seal's second stage and trapped shikamaru in her genjutsu and she came very close to winning the battle. She also had enough strength to dispel the bind of Shikamaru's shadow bind technique.

What she really lacks in is just basic tactics and strategy and she is very lacking in any intelligence so she can be tricked very easily by those who escalade her own intelligence. Other than that she is pretty strong. She is also as Orochimaru said, the only member of the sound four that doesn't "slow down the group" other than her "doesn't-want-to-lose" mentality.

Tsuchi Kin

Kin Tsuchi is the third member of the only Sound Village participants in the Chuunin Exams, and doesn't have much to show or to add to the show in general, other than the fact she hates Sakura's vanity in keeping her hair long.
Her attacks consist of a bell tied to a needle, which she throws past her opponent and into a nearby stationary object. Then, by pulling strings that were attached to the needles, she makes the bells tinkle. What makes this a potentially difficult technique, is that the bells manipulate the sound into the opponents ears, and to the brain, causing them to hallucinate illusions.

Uchicha Itachi

Uchiha Itachi is one of the last of the Uchiha clan, he graduated from the chuunin selection exam at the age of 10, and when he was 13 he already became an ANBU Captain. Together with his brother, Uchiha Sasuke, they're supposably the only ones still alive after the Clan's massacre. Their clan, once praised as the strongest clan in Leaf village, was viscously wiped out by none other then Itachi himself. Itachi, a genius praised as the clan's future, killed all his family in a single night. Everybody except for Sasuke, he was left alive in order to avenge the clan. As Itachi himself stated: "At the moment you aren't even worth killing. My foolish little brother. If you want to kill me, despise me, hate me, live a loathsome life and cling to life. And then some day, when you have the same eyes as I do, come before me".

Itachi, being an Uchiha member, has the feared Sharingan bloodline ability. An eye-technique used to copy an opponent's techniques, and see through their movement. Itachi, having fully mastered the "Sharigan Eye", is able to use the clan's ultimate eye-technique: "Mangekyou sharigan".
After the incident Itachi left the Leaf, and became a missing-nin. The reason why Itachi let Sasuke live and revealed the Mangekyou Sharigan's secret is unclear. It may be because only a Mangekyou sharigan user can kill him, and he wished to be killed by his brother. Or perhaps he really let him live because he thought he wasn't even worth killing. Either way, he forced his brother to live a painfull life, swearing that he will avenge the clan and kill Itachi. The reason why he murdered all members of the Uchiha clan is also not known. Although he said it was to test his ability, it's strange that Itachi already seemed to have joined Akatsuki prior to the killing. Itachi also informs Sasuke about a second Mangekyou sharigan user besides himself.
Itachi is currently a member of the organization "Akatsuki", an organization comprised of "Sly S-Rank Criminals" as Kakashi stated. Their ultimate goal is unknown, but we do know they're after the jinchuuriki and Itachi and his partner Kisame were ordered to track down the Kyuubi (The Nine Tailed Fox Demon) jinchuuriki, and take him back with them. In other words, they were ordered to kidnap Naruto, the host in which the Kyuubi was sealed. Some time after Itachi joined Akatsuki Orochimaru tries to take over Itachi's body, but fails and ends up having his hand severely damaged. After this incident Orochimaru leaves the organization.
Itachi first appeared in episode 80, where we breifly veiwed him and Kisame observing the ruined Leaf village, after Orochimaru's invasion. Itachi and Kisame get detected by Kakashi who is defeated by Itachi quite easily using the Mangekyou Sharingan. Kakashi being defeated so easily, searches for a way to counter the Mangekyou Sharigan. We have yet to see Itachi's true power, but considering his Sharingan and the fact that he's very skilled with genjutsu and ninjutsu makes him a force to be wreckend with.

Yakushi Kabuto
Age: 19-20

Kabuto first appeared in the chuunin exam as a leaf student who was extremely weak but extremely smart. Though it was soon short lived when he was shown as a hidden spy of the Sound village. Kabuto is not weak but extremely strong and is able to hold his own to Kakashi and some of the best ninjas.

Kabuto is Orochimaru's right hand man and does only the most difficult missions for the sound because he is the only one Orochimaru can slightly trust. Kabuto rarely questions anything ordered by Orochimaru and follows up every command.

Kabuto was found by a medical team by the leaf at a young age and was not really good at any particular genre of fighting but as shown in the series he is extremely talented in tactics and medical jutsu. So much so that he was able to deal with Tsunade while his body movement was reverted.

Kabuto is a very strong ninja for the sound and is the second in command of the operations that happen in the Sound village. He takes care of all the arrangements for Orochimaru while his arms were unable to move. Kabuto is a extremely strong ninja but some have rumored that he is part of the Akatsuki.
